(Verse 1) Where do my goods come from and where do they go? As I consume my old sense of the known I sedate myself with a sensory bone I'm a pooch that's loose to the rules I follow Can't break them though so I take what's told as a truth, profuse in the tales I am sold Fake the role that I feel is all that I crave to be in this world I own My own infinite needs to be catered for, sake of ease that I earned and bought To insane degrees, concerns I ignore 'cos I'm trained and free to obey the law I'm free to obey the law (Chorus) I'm a little commodity A little commodity, receiving doggy treats, receiving liberty (Verse 2) My money's reaped and spent for slavery Congolese children choose their destiny not a pest to me, that's just industry no death's in vain for my accessories It's a yes from me, not my decision I persist with the only known vision my ancestry left me - a fascistic division, I don't see Beyond the dream of sovereignty, chowed down like pedigree Express a sense of me through other's expertise, goods and services tailored to my greed Ignorance festers, blessedly entitlement pressing, restlessly degraded and demeaned, but I'm appeased so I'm free to commit to a lie I lead My leaders secure their feed, killing child refugees, made by foreign policy (Chorus) I'm a little commodity A little commodity, receiving doggy treats, receiving liberty (Verse 3) Could create my own reality but I'll buy mine instead Struggle to the top before a sudden timely dread that everything is meaningless, 'cos one day I'll be dead and everything I've worked for is a bullet in the head

Resist 03:00
(Chorus) Desist, resist, persist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist Desist and resist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist (Verse 1) They took our time, they took our sense They took our patience and our defence They took our will and our sense They took our self-worth and our presence They took our peace, they took our bonds They took our focus and our response They took our care and more They took our reserves and what for? (Chorus) Desist, resist, persist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist Desist and resist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist (Verse 2) Avoiding all the bleakness when all wrapped up in the sheets, Exploitment of the weakest, that is captured in the streets In the name of slickness, in the vein of sickness Rolling in a heap because the rapture’s gonna reap Isolated, agitated, understated pleas Not even affected to the medium degree but we can agree, none of us are free When we break the narratives we’ll have them on their knees (Verse 3) Laid in boiling water, we cannae feel it rising It’s so unappetising We’re uncompromising Paid in dirty dollars, No, there’s no apologising as we are realising, we are organising (Verse 4) Life in a vacuum isn’t unheard Powerlessness is sour at best Vice in the backroom isn’t absurd When our abyss goes now unaddressed Ice of the caps too fizzle with burn Showers of this build up to detest Not once we’ve been fooled, but undeterred Hours unrest and hours obsessed (Chorus) Desist, resist, persist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist Desist and resist Shift dismissed, exist Desist, resist, persist Exist, exist

The Wild 04:48
You prey upon my attention Every hole you want filled Every space within yours You take what you can And sell back what is god given land Strip away the sacred Strip away all the meaning from your word Sickening the earth Kicking down what’s inside Your self-preservation kills everything alive Everything alive Take me to your wounds They’re bleeding over us They’re sickening the earth And breathing in our dust Take me to your wounds They’re breathing over us They’re sickening the earth And breathing in our dust One, two, three, four One, two, three, four One, two, three, four One, two, three We’re trained forces on four horses We’re trained forces on four horses Take it as omen, coming closer to the end Fuck all this nonsense There’s a shadow casting all of us Descending into darkness Please pray, pray for your souls Cos everything is gonna fall.

about

'Little Commodity' is an exposure of collective shadow, travelling through the mind of each archetype in the psychic underworld: the tyrant; the slave; the rebel; the wild warrior and the spirit of rebirth.

'Crawl' is an exposure of the violent conditioning, fed to us all of us on a mass scale through insidious messaging, social norms, laws and media. The song enters the mind of a life-sucking tyrant, capable within us all.

Track two: 'Little Commodity' is a confrontation of how destructive, passive consumption actually is, fed on mass in a culture that commodifies everything, including people. The song addresses everything from human sex-trafficking to the attention economy, to smartphone culture, to the irony of commodifying oneself in act of confronting all of this. You can read more about the song at: natashanewman.co.uk/little-commodity-process

'Resist' is an attempt to take control of a shared reality, through individual resistance to collective conditioning, losing one's inner authority in the process of rebelling against outward authority.

Track four: 'The Wild' addresses the attention economy, a fractured path in an extremely cold, corrupt, mind-based world, highly removed from the integral, empathetic and feminine nature of the wild. The song predicts a system descending into further chaos and to be prepared for this, unless we each individually embrace our inherent wildish nature. The song is a final attempt to claim one's power in full alchemised rage.

Bonus track, 'Alien' is about re-birth, the life-cycle and the awareness of oneself as a fragment of consciousness, inhabiting a human form for this life-time.

"The band and I wrote almost the whole EP and performed two gigs together in the first two weeks of playing together. 'Little Commodity' combined our individual demons with our shared disillusion of an unsupportive system - one that failed to recognise our unique talents and personalities and instead defined them as dangerous, unlikeable or crazy. This, to us, lacked understanding and empathy for the complexities of our circumstances, individual traumas and needs. We were all sensitive to the growing artificial, overstimulating, Orwellian and financially driven world around us, which we all dealt with in our own ways. Living in poverty and on the margins of the collective consensus, we were all vulnerable to addiction, abuse and exploitation. The EP was our attempt to outrun these circumstances, to be recognised for our gifts and to be heard by those who ignore us."
